Geological and Geohazards Screening Study, UKCS
Ternan Energy were contracted by Red Rock Power to conduct geological and geohazard screening of several potential offshore development zones within UK continental waters.
The purpose of the scope was to review and summarise existing data available for the proposed site(s), identify gaps (uncertainty/risk) and highlight potential hazards to future site operations. Vintage survey data, public domain data, 3rd party data and existing in-house data were all examined. This was incorporated into a GIS project to allow for the spatial analysis of data, survey planning and charting.
The report(s) provided indicative risk zones for foundation and cable installation, a foundation suitability assessment to develop a characteristic geological/ground model, and recommendations for future survey and site investigation strategies.
