North Sea Decommissioning Projects
Ternan Energy routinely provide support for trenching and burial projects including:
- Pipe-soil analysis
- Cable burial risk assessment

- Assessment of rock placement structure stability on the seabed
Ternan recently provided geotechnical and trenching consultancy support for a large-scale North Sea decommissioning project. The aim of this work was to de-risk the potential trenching and burial operations for several subsea pipelines. Having considered geotechnical data, pipeline condition reports, environmental and engineering concerns as well as current trenching tool capabilities, a comprehensive trenching risk assessment was produced. This provided advice on how best to decommission the pipeline including method and tool selection.
